Edward Carlstead enjoys working closely with clients to resolve their legal problems. Since 1985 he practiced with several Denver area law firms until eventually associating with Burton Wherry in 1992. The law firm Wherry & Carlstead, LLC was known for providing personalized and creative representation to people and businesses that found themselves confronted with a crisis: vehicle and product injuries, financial distress, contract disputes, and divorce and family law issues. Following Burton Wherry’s sudden and untimely death in 2007, Edward Carlstead continued on his own by handcrafting a law practice based on his diverse legal experience.
Edward Carlstead received his law degree in 1984 from the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was the lead articles editor of the Missouri Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Hawai'i and a masters degree from the International School of Theology. He served as law clerk for the Honorable Dale P. Tursi on the Colorado Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
Burt Wherry practiced with his late father, Robert A. Wherry, Sr. until 1991. A Colorado native, Burt Wherry received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1977 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado. He concentrated his practice on personal injury and product liability cases, real estate, divorce, and insurance bad faith. He was a member of several bar associations and is also a licensed real estate broker. Burt was well known to his clients as being optimistic and non-judgmental no matter what trouble they had gotten themselves into. His free-wheeling style and dedication won him numerous lifelong friends, some of whom remained his clients for decades. |
